Within the Folkwang festival “TRY AGAIN-FAIL AGAIN-FAIL BETTER-IMPULS BAUHAUS” Marie-Lena Kaiser is working on the performance series “Go for Good” with the Folkwang dance department and the Folkwang dance studio. Concise staircases on the site of the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein become a concrete venue for dance-related discussions in each of the four festival units. “The Good and All” is the first choreographic sketch taking place in the imposing and bright staircase of the Ruhr Museum. Inspiration is the ‘Bauhaus staircase’ as well paintings like ‘bekleidete und unbekleidete in Architektur’ by Oskar Schlemmer.
Also the work deals with site-specific choreography/ dance in architecture. Four sketches are to be created here, an attempt to recognize the stairs, which are actually unsuitable for performative situations as a concrete place of presentation. For this there is a presentation of the research results in every festival week.
